OUTNUMBERED BY ONE

Nothing is as terrifying as the prospect of the return of the King of Kings, for in the Prayer of Blood it is written that at one time a Sanguine defied the King - and destroyed a star. And when he did this, the King of Kings threw his galaxy through the Milky Way - destroying the entire galaxy, with a motion of his hand.

No living Sanguine known can move a galaxy. Sanguine who are very very old have the ability to move small planets and nudge a star in a new direction gently. No one has ever seen a galaxy move like a ball - tossed from the sky - in living history. Yet all the Sanguine remember it, and live in fear - for they know without any question the memory of this act is accompanied with the voice of the King, his singular thought before this act, "She died."

If he would destroy a galaxy for one person, what would he do for the suffering caused by any Sanguine today?

In this one thought - the very idea of war perished - and the ability and the will along with the power to destroy all life was both certain and for an instant, present.

It is as if the fear of actual judgment for which even the refuge of 'pocket' dimensions and flight into the modulus far beyond the boundary of 'high' and 'low' energy proved no defense.

There is no place to hide. Nowhere to run. No shadow deep enough to withdraw.

The Milky Way was 'just in the way'. The galaxy was thrown through 'low energy' and is not there anymore - neither in our dimension nor did it remain in the next. Everything in it, and every anchor tying to a nexus bound to that place, is gone. Only a hole remains in the galaxy it hit as it descended.

From this the Sanguine say, for it is written, his last words spoken, "You were outnumbered by one."

The supreme judgment of the King, summarizing the value of one over the lives of all others.

It is said he went then to dwell in The Dark, and Those Who Walk In Shadow never spoke again. None returned. It is said, he must be alone, for none return from the Shadow of the King.
